About this product

Projector Retrofit Headlights

This is the product that exists because the popular alternative does not work. A reflector housing is an optic designed around the exact position and shape of one emitter. Put a different emitter in it and the optic is no longer aimed at anything: the beam loses its cut-off, light sprays upward, and the driver sees a brighter glow while the road ahead gets less usable light than before.

A retrofit fixes it properly by replacing the optic. A projector is a lens system with a physical shield that creates a hard horizontal cut-off, and when it is built around the LED or HID source it is designed for, the result is a genuine improvement: more light on the road, a defined edge, and far less glare thrown at oncoming traffic.

The work is real and we describe it honestly. The housing is opened, which means the factory butyl seal is broken and must be properly replaced; the projector must be mounted square and aimed; and the finished assembly needs to be tested against a wall or a beam pattern target before it goes back on a vehicle. A retrofit done badly is worse than the reflector it replaced, and we would rather explain the process than sell it as a bolt-on.

FAQ

Projector Retrofit Headlights: quick answers

What is the minimum order for projector retrofit headlights?
Minimum order is just 12 — with bulk pricing tiers as quantities grow.
How fast will my order arrive?
Your free mockup lands within 24 hours and the finished order ships in about 2 weeks — express turnaround is available for tight dates.
Why not just fit LED bulbs to my existing headlights?
Because the housing is the optic. A reflector or a halogen projector is shaped around the precise position and geometry of a filament, and an LED emitter does not sit where that filament did. The cut-off collapses, light scatters upward into oncoming traffic, and in most cases less usable light reaches the road even though the output looks far brighter from the driver’s seat. If you want more light, the honest route is a housing designed for the source, which is exactly what a retrofit is.
Is a higher colour temperature brighter?
No, it is bluer, and beyond a point it is worse. Colour temperature describes the tint of the light, not its quantity. Around 4300K to 5000K is where most manufacturers target, because that light penetrates rain, fog and snow better and renders the road surface more usefully. Above 6000K the light reads dramatically whiter to the eye and scatters more in bad weather, which is the exact condition where seeing distance matters most.
