About this product

Headlight Restoration & Recoating

Every hazy headlight starts the same way: the factory hard coat degrades under ultraviolet light, the polycarbonate underneath oxidises, and the lens goes cloudy and yellow. Sanding and polishing removes that damaged layer and the lens comes back genuinely clear, which is why the process looks like magic in a short video.

The video always stops before the important part. Polishing removes the remaining hard coat as well as the damage, leaving bare polycarbonate exposed to the same ultraviolet that caused the problem. Without a new coating that lens will haze again in months, often faster than the original took to fail, and this is why restoration has a reputation for not lasting.

So the coating is the job. We restore to clarity and then apply a genuine UV-stable clear coat, and we quote the coating type and the expected service life rather than treating it as an optional extra. For fleets we will do this in batches on site or in the workshop, and it is dramatically cheaper than replacing assemblies that are otherwise perfectly functional.

Fleets and municipal vehicles, dealerships and used-car preparation, rental operators and independent workshops. Send your vehicle details and quantities for a free mockup and quote on custom headlight restoration today.

FAQ

Headlight Restoration & Recoating: quick answers

What is the minimum order for headlight restoration and recoating?
Minimum order is just 12 — with bulk pricing tiers as quantities grow.
How fast will my order arrive?
Your free mockup lands within 24 hours and the finished order ships in about 2 weeks — express turnaround is available for tight dates.
Why did my last restoration go cloudy again so quickly?
Because the lens was polished and not recoated. The haze is degraded factory hard coat plus oxidised polycarbonate, and sanding removes both — including whatever hard coat was left. What is exposed afterwards is bare plastic, which is far more vulnerable to ultraviolet light than the original surface was, so it can haze again within months. A proper restoration finishes with a UV-stable clear coat, and that step is the whole difference between a fix and a delay.
Can every hazy headlight be restored?
Most can, and two cases cannot. If the hazing is on the inside of the lens, polishing the outside achieves nothing and the housing has either taken water or has a failing internal coating. And a lens with cracks or crazing through its depth cannot be sanded back to clarity. We will tell you which of the three you have before quoting, because restoring a lens that needs replacing wastes your money and our time.
